pat posey’s debut solo album they/beast was released in Late 2023 to critical acclaim.
they/beast is the first streamable solo album made on a tubax, a re-proportioned contrabass saxophone invented in the 1990s by Benedikt Eppelsheim.
Including music of Shelley Washington, Phillip Glass, and JS Bach, Pat’s own work Hymn was hailed by BBC Music Magazine as “a dazzling, unsettling spectacle by a musician pushing the creative envelope” and earned them comparison to Franz Liszt.
Original program notes with an introduction by Justin Elizabeth Sayre are included with the release from Avie Records, available digitally and as a compact disc worldwide. The album was produced, recorded, and mixed in Los Angeles by Lewis Pesacov.
